VR (Virtual Reality)

Well, welcome to my blog again. Today we are going to talk about Virtual Reality. I am sure that we all know something about VR, but now we will learn more.

Virtual reality is the whole of the digital and physical elements that make our 5 sense organs feel as if we are really in a virtual world. Today, virtual reality technology is developing at an accelerating pace. The most widely used tools of this technology are virtual reality glasses. With virtual reality glasses, you can look anywhere you want in a 3D designed world and walk around as you wish.

We can list the most widely used virtual reality glasses as follows:

-HTC Vive

-Oculus Rift

-Sony Playstation VR

-Google Cardboard

-Samsung Gear VR

The virtual reality glasses we mentioned above use only two of our 5 sense organs (sight and hearing). There are technologies developed for the use of our sense organs other than these two senses. One of them is an olfactory mask that can be attached to virtual reality glasses called FeelReal. The FealReal mask can simulate hundreds of scents in a virtual reality world. (Metal, gunpowder, fire, ocean, forest, etc..) In addition to smells, you can feel the warmth or the wind blowing in the environment thanks to this mask.

One of the devices that aims to simulate the sense of touch is the virtual reality glove called HaptX. This glove provides a realistic feeling by giving a certain force feedback to your hand when you hold or touch an object in the virtual reality world. This force feedback can weigh up to 1.8 kg per finger.

Virtual reality applications are used in almost every field. We can list some of these areas as follows:

-Education

-Industry

-Health

-Travel

-Game

-Defense Industry

-Culture and Tourism

-Entertainment
